Webjet
Webjet is a leading travel aggregator in Australia. The company I worked for had won and worked on the initial mobile apps for the brand. In 2016 I was given the responsibilities of working on design features for the app which was an ongoing process. We made many periodically updates and one of the biggest challenges for me was switching our design files over from Photoshop to Sketch.
Feature updates
A budget was set aside every quarter to work on either fixing or adding new features to the app. The client would conduct their own research and provide us with data and then discuss what new features to proceed with.
Flights
Although Webjet catered to Hotel and Car bookings. Air travel was still the bread and butter of the product. This meant that our designs had to cater to this first and then filter down to the rest of the offering. During this period also saw exponential growth in competititors which meant we always had to ensure that we were on top of our game.
Style
The approach here was to reinforce the Webjet household branding. A strong red colour and clean lines to always ensure visibilty of the heavy data being shown on the app.
