This was one of the first mobile apps that I had the opportunity to be the design lead on. Bike Exchange wanted to rebuild all their products from the ground up and let me work closely with their website designer to develop a solution that was consistant across all their offerings.
An overview of all the root level sections of the app. Again we wanted all these sections to have a familiar look and feel to the website. Because mobile had many constraints we would design for solutions that worked on mobile first before transferring these ideas over to the desktop website.
Bike exchange already had existing API's which helped set boundaries for what we could design for. Below is the user journey for searching for products within a location.
User journey for displaying search results and product descriptions.
An integral part of a user's journey is having a frictionless checkout process yet allowing for flexibility to still make edits to their shopping cart.
This phase of the delivery process is where I spent most of my time. Not only because it is important to get the minor details right but also where I receive the most feedback from all stakeholders. Further iterations are made until we reach satisfaction for signoff.
Bike exchange was a child of the Marketplacer brand which held many other products. The plan was to roll-out the Bike Exchange solution to all the other brands. It was imperative that the designs allowed for this capability.
The approach to the styling was to make it as universal as possible allowing the designs to be implemented across other marketplacer products.
